Daun Jeong

Born in Korea in 1987, Daun Jeong studied Western painting for her BA and MA at Dongduk Women's University in Seoul, South Korea. Although she specialised in painting, she now uses fabric rather than paint as a material for artistic expression. Pieces of split fabric represent her brushstrokes. The space of her work is filled with fabrics that extend beyond the edge of a canvas or are placed directly in the space.

She has participated in various exhibitions, art fairs and collaborations. One of her major works is an installation at the SAN museum (Space Art Nature). The museum, designed by the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando in Wonju, Gangwon, South Korea, is home to the installation "From Nature: Naturally", which stands 10.8 metres high and is made up of 25 superimposed canvases. In 2022, she created a permanent installation in China's first sovereign wealth fund company in Quanzhou. She is currently preparing solo exhibitions, art fairs and residencies in Canada and abroad.
